The AMFORHT - World Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Training - will host its 19th annual congress on Oct. 8th to 11th, 2015, in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, in partnership with the Spanish Association of tourism schools, ANESTUR, and the Escuela Universitaria de Turismo Felipe Moreno.
During this global networking event, over two hundred participants from thirty countries, including professionals and experts from the hospitality and tourism industries, will gather and discuss about "innovation in the heart of hospitality and tourism educational institutions", while having an opportunity to attend sessions with high level keynote speakers. To date, 860 members from 54 countries are part of AMFORTH. As an Affiliated Member of UNWTO, AMFORTH is the only global organization federating three main groups in the tourism sector: 1) Hotel schools, business schools and universities of tourism; 2) Hospitality and Tourism businesses, experts, restaurant owners, head chefs, and; 3) Associations, trade unions and national or international administrations of these areas of activities. AMFORHT is currently chaired by Philippe FRANCOIS, President Director of François Tourisme Consultants. According to Martine FERRY, AMFORTH's First Vice-president, "indeed, the AMFORHT is characterized by its working method focused on the development of close working relations and the creation of projects between the members: twinning, internships, conferences, jobs, partnerships, etc." The priority axis are human values: "we call all our schools, universities and people working in the tourism industry, members of the AMFORHT, to strengthen their international actions, and their relationships, for the benefit of the students globally," says Philippe FRANCOIS.
